Jessica Hendricks decided to scratch this morning,
at 8:00 (March 05, 2008) in Nikolai Checkpoint. The
25 year old Iditarod musher from Two Rivers Alaska
made the decision to scratch because of the effects
the warm weather had on her team. Hendricks had 7
dogs on her team when she scratched.
Bio
2008
Jessica Hendricks, 25, was born and raised in
Alaska. She’s been a kennel operator for
fourteen years and “isn’t sure how she
got interested in the Iditarod.” She raises
and trains her own dogs with blood lines including
Buser, Erhart, MacEachen, Taylor and Mackey.
“I race in the Iditarod to prove my dogs and
test our abilities.” She is partnered with
Iditarod veteran Thomas Lesatz. She enjoys hunting,
horses, fishing, and the outdoors.
Results
Jessica scratched in 2011 and on March 4 at
Nikolai in the 2008 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.
She finished 24th in 2006, 15th in 2005 and 19th in
her rookie year in 2003.
