I am presently the the event organizer/promoter for the East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame & Reunion held annually in Henderson, NC. The 3rd. weekend in October we hold the largest event of its kind in the Southeast, honoring drag race legends that participated in the sport during the 50's, 60's & 70's. Approximately 35 - 40 thousand people attend the free event.

I have experienced an interesting and exciting life in the world of drag racing. I plan on racing a nostalgia drag car May 14-15, 2010 at the 25th Super Stock Reunion at Piedmont Dragway, Greensboro, NC. I purchased the car for the purpose of displaying it at nostalgia drag racing events and making exhibition runs. It's not over yet!

I drag raced for 10 years on the East Coast during the 60's, 70's and 80's. I drove max wedge Mopars 1962 - Plymouth Savoy, 1963 Plymouth Belvedere, and 1969 RR, 440 6 pack. The cars were very competetive and I had lots of fun competing against the guys. Most of my racing career was made up of match racing. I could make more money and receive a lot of publicity.

I started writing a column, "Down South With Nancy Wilson" for Drag Times in the 70's & 80's. The paper covered drag racing events on the East Coast and was based in Arlington, VA. I was also the S.E. Rep for the paper during that time. I was always concerned about the lack of publicity for the sport.

I wrote a letter to the sports editor of the largest TV station in NC, WRAL-TV, requesting them to cover drag racing on their daily sports shows. The sports editor called me a few days later and ask me if I would be interested in reporting for the station. I was the first women to cover sports on the station and the first reporter to cover drag racing in the \'70\'s. I covered the first Rockingham, NC drag race and grand opening of the track. My first live interview in the station was with Ronnie Sox and Buddy Martin. I enjoyed visiting tracks all over the country and reporting on the events.
